Strategic Planning Development
THE PLAN TO PLAN
CHP&M begins each strategic planning project with a "Plan to Plan" meeting in which the following questions are explored:
- Why undertake a strategic planning process? Why do it now?
- What are the strategic questions and organizational issues to be explored in the process?
- Who are the key stakeholders in the process? How will they be involved?
- What information do we need to collect to support informed decision making?
- What are the roles to be played in the planning process and who will assume these roles?
- What are the major steps in the process and the timeline for completion?
- What should the final written strategic plan document include?
- What level of resources will be invested in this process?
- What are the transition steps to operational planning?
- How will the board monitor and update the strategic plan?
The answers to these questions enable CHP&M to design a planning process that meets the unique needs of each client organization. From quick "Strategic Direction Setting" retreats that result in a common understanding of the organization's mission and goals to longer "Strategic and Operational Planning" processes that result in specific objectives, activities, assignments and timelines, CHP&M will work with your organization to envision your desired future – and to achieve it.
